Upper Skagit Complex Update Tuesday, September 1, 2015 8 am New Incident Information Number: (206 386-4495 Ext. 11) (staffed from 9 am to 5 pm daily) Fire Start Date: Early August 2015 Location: North Cascades National Park, north of Marblemount, Washington Size: 8505 acres Percent Contained: 66% (of the planned containment) Cause: Lightning Incident Resources: 98 personnel, including 3 engines. Lost Time Injuries: 0 Estimated Incident Cost to Date: $1,800,000 General Announcements: Significant precipitation over the past 72 hours has reduced fire activity for the entire complex. Smoldering in dense fuels, those not exposed directly to the rain, can be expected for several weeks. Additional wetting rain amounts are forecasted through Friday. Future challenges will mainly be weather related as heavy rain could bring debris flows onto the highway.
